Has anyone tried to get away from the idiot lights on the standard speedo cluster and installed aftermarket gauges? I bought the center gauge console from E|3ay, and now I'd like some advice on how to mount the gauges. I'm not worried about the speedo, fuel or the tach yet, jut the gauges that will mount in the center piece.

Thanks in advance!

Keith, email me direct, [email protected], and I'll write you up an install on this whole deal. I recommend that you get the Haynes Mustang V-8 manual from your local parts place, as they have a pretty decent wiring diagram in it.

That is actually a bigger PITA than it first looks. The problem is the Ford gauges sweep from the top. Almost all (including the AutoMeter gauges I got) sweep from the bottom. If you are just going to push them through the holes in the faceplate it will work, but looks kinda odd. Mounting them behind the plate is tough. Think twice about that.
