While rebuilding my engine this weekend, I noticed the fuel pump cam was at it's lowest when the dist was on #1. When I rotated the crank one turn to the dist on #6, the fuel cam was up, allowing for a lot easier intallation of the fuel pump. I did not have to fight against the fuel pump arm spring, and the two fuel pump bolts went in easy. Just a suggestion when replacing the fuel pump, set the dist on #6 cylinder.
