I had my gauge cluster out to fix the speedo cable and decided to replace the instrument bulbs just while I was in there. I got a few packs of replacement bulbs #1895. They wouldn't even work, the nubs didnt stick out enough to hold the bulb in the housing when you push them in and rotate. So I just put the bulbs that were in there back in... they fit fine. I dont think the bulb housings are worn out because the previous bulbs work good. Any particular brand of bulb I should look for?, these were the el-cheapo made in China/Hungary stuff from Autozone I guess. But I figured hey a bulb is a bulb?... boy was I wrong.

Yes, those cheapo china bulbs don't meet specs for the nubs on the bayonet lamp base. GE's are much better. They will stay in the sockets.
