I am updating a red interior of a 65 fastback.

How do I go about getting the correct colors on the metal and fiberglass?

If there is a link let me know, I did not see anything specific doing a search.

Is there a difference in types of paint? Is there anything specific I need to do with respect to the folks painting?

Also, I am assuming it is different than the exterior.

Any info would be appreciated.

The paint is different than the exterior, it
has a slight sheen to it and is thin, you don't
want to fill in the grain on the rear panels & doors.
I just had my interior parts painted 65 red.
I gave my steering column to the painter to
match up and he used PPG Deltron 2000 DPI 72246 Prime
OEM code 72BN,W25A4988
All those numbers are off the label on the can,
hopefully that will help.

For reference; I just checked with my local ppg store about this paint for my galaxie. . . . .$246/pint. Yes folks, per pint. Better make sure it's the right stuff before ordering it up.

If you dont paint all of the pieces you may find it doesn't match. Not because the color match is off but because it seems the red lacquer darkens over time.
I painted my red interior in 2004, I recently replaced a door and bought 65 red interior lacquer to pant the interior of it and it didn't match, it was too bright. I did however still have a partial can of the red that i used in 2004 and tried that... Nope it as also too bright but a perfect match to the brand new can.
