I hear an intermittent "pinging" noise up behind my Intrument cluster. The Voltage gauge and Tail lights flicker when I hear the noise. This happens with the key on or off.
Is this the CVU giving me fair warning?

you might just have a loose connection at CV unit. Put a towel around the steering column to protect it from scratches and pull the gauge panel off (6 or 8 screws hold it on). If you do find a loose connection just re-crimp the fitting slightly.

Well the noise has suddenly went away after I disconnected and reconnected the Battery. I removed the Dash anyway to do exactly what you had suggested.
I'm willing to bet..... the Gremlin will be back.

I had a similar problem that turned out to be a bare wire touching my taillight housing. I guess it could be a bare wire anywhere in the lighting circuit.
