First off, thanks to all the advice yesterday. I think I've narrowed down my excessive heat problem. After my car reaches operating temp it seems to pour heat into the drivers compartment. The heat appears to be coming from the heater vents. The harder i mash on the accelertor the more hot air blows through the vents. I tried placing the select air controls to off, but the heat keeps blowing. Does anyone have any ideas?
By the way, the car is a 68 GT FB J code. My user name is a little decepitive, because i initially wanted a big block.
Thanks,
Mike

Okay, I hope i don't sound to ignorant. I assume the vacum closes the valve? I checked the unit and it does have vacum. Should the vacum still be on when you switch on the heat? Also, if the valve is working, (not letting hot fluid passed it, should the hose exiting the valve get hot?
I'm sorry for all the questions, but as you can see my knowledge is limited.
Thanks,
Mike

Assuming this is a factory A/C car, vacuum closes the valve when the air is on, then when the heat or defrost is on, no vacuum=Valve open.
