I installed my headliner earlier today and ran into some issues.

1) Both sides at the rear the headliner was to short to meet with the metal teeth.

Right Rear

2) The same thing at the windshield posts where the metal clips go.

I tried pulling the headliner tighter and also reinstalled it with the same result.

I'm thinking the headliner is not cut properly from the manufacturer. It came from Mustangs Unlimited, here's a pic of the box;

Any ideas, I'm thinkin of ordering another headliner from Canadian Mustangs.

Please help, thanks.

I got mine from Mustangs unlimited and it worked pretty good. Did you trim it all after you took it out of the box? If not I would call MU and tell them it's not big enough and send those pics if they need it.

From what I've seen on here, that's not unheard of. I'm just hoping thats not the case for mine :horror:

No I didn't trim it, just pulled it out of the box let it sit for a few days then tried to install it. I just wanted to make sure it was an issue with the headliner being to small before moving on.

if headliner material is similar to the soft top I put on my Jeep CJ7 it may be a little small due to being cold. I put my soft top on when it was 40 degrees and had to work hard to get it to stretch to fit. when warm it was actually a hair loose.

Thanks for everyone's input. As I initially thought this isn't normal.

Got in touch with MU and they agreed. A new one is on it's way.

Thanks again,
Piero

My guess is someone shrunk it and returned it and MU was unaware of it. I've only seen that one time. To get the wrinkles out, you can leave it out for a few days, or you can put it in the clothes drier for about 5 minutes. Any more than 5 minutes, though, and it WILL shrink. Did that with my son's :eek: (that's the one time I've seen it)
