Hi all - I’m looking for a functioning original driver side horn for a 1964.5. I was able to get the passenger side horn working. The replacement horn I purchased for the driver side is not nearly loud enough. Any available horns or suggestions? Thanks!

Have you tried spraying some rust remover in the horn that wasn't working while tapping on it with a rubber mallet when it's connected to 12 volts?

I have not. I’ve only tried disassembling and cleaning it really well. Worked for the passenger side. Maybe I’ll try that

There's a guy round these parts that restores those, might have some. But I can't find the name of the place with a quickie Google.

Well, most likely the contacts are just way out of adjustment. Unless the coil is broken or shorted, you should be able to restore function by adjusting the points.

You could have it rebuilt.

Was your replacement the OE style?

One of my frame mount horns barely worked, I sprayed WD-40 in the horn, let it sit for a day and it came back to life. That was 15 years ago and it still works.
