Hi Guys,

Just picked up a new Iwata AZ3 HTE2 gun. Wondering what the Pro's would suggest for a starting setting for air pressure for base and clear? Any thoughts??

Thanks!!

Tech data sheet for your paint system will have tip and pressure specs.

I have always looked to the sheet for advice in the past. I have been told that there is no way to know what the press. is at the cap (Kevin Tetz from Easwood) so in the past (with my old Eastwood Concourse gun), had 25 psi at the inlet of the gun for base and 30 psi for clear. Once I started doing that, my orange peel really dropped--less than an OEM finish. I was just wondering if someone with the same gun could tell me what their experimenting told them. I know I will have to play around with a few test panels to nail it down though.

I have one I use for primer. I set the gauge at the gun to the tech sheet and adjust from there using the gun controls. I put up masking paper on the wall to test spray to get the fan right. I do the same for the Iwata I use for color and clear.
