The ceramic coating reduces your underhood temperatures significantly thereby saving many underhood electrical (starter, etc.) and rubber components from early death, and since more heat is kept in the exhaust gasses (keeps it moving faster) helps produce more power.

I think it's sufficient. I've got about 15k miles on mine with just the stock nickel plating, and about 1 1/2 years drving it (daily driver). The finish is still extremely good. They will "blue" in the usual places, but the rest still has that shiny finish on them.

Concur with Johnpro....

I have seven years of use on my stock JBA's and that includes numerous trips to the coast where the combination of salt air and rain take their toll...

Finish still looks like day one....if you'd like a picture, I can shoot one next time I take the car out (it's undercover right now *G*)...
