I'll paste the current confirmed and 'maybe' attendees below again. If Randy Bosscars is still planning on bringing his club buddies along we could be pushing 40 people here. Again, we might want to consider a banquet room and package price for some of these folks anyway. The folks at Don Jose's are gonna have their hands full with that many people.

For those who didn't see 67Delilah's original post on the topic, Don Jose's will seat some or all of us in a banquet room for $13 a head. Some folks would rather take their chances out among the restaraunt's 'general population', but it might not be practical to try and seat 30-40 people together out there.

We may want to put 15-20 in a banquet room and seat everyone else out in the general seating (hopefully at 3 or 4 large tables). What do you all think?

Confirmed Attendees:
Pat & Rene
Allen Paxton + wife
Mr and Mrs Teebone
Mr and Mrs GEM
BlueOval4me (eric) and guest

ShanMan (+1)
Randy Bosscars (+12????!!!!)
Steve (bassfromspace+1)
Jill Gipson +1
Mr and Ms abn (+ chilluns?)
Mike McKelvey

Sounds like a banquet room is the way to go. We, Barbara and I, prefer chicken something to eat with after dinner coffee. Beer and wine optional.

If it is going to be in a banquet room, could we have a program of some kind? Perhaps awards for best and worst post, or we could roast a few people, sort of a way to identify everyone... Maybe, each person that chooses to can present their own list of "interesting" posting on VMF or other place. Limit 3 or 5 minutes per presentation. Laughing seems to help the food go down and loosens the socializing climate.

Fair questions, Russ.

Bob (67Delilah) is our 'man in the field' on this. I know he planned on chatting with DJ's management later on this week. I'll send him a PM to see if he can respond to your questions.

Yeah, like we're not all going to stand around in the parking lot afterwards and talk about our cars anyway...*G*

SWMBO's will need a shuttle to get home...hehehe

Unless DJ's puts out a buffet or their prixe fixe menu is a known quantity, I'd prefer to be on my own...I've had some really awful food at local Mexican restaurant banquets and paid dearly for the "priviledge". Besides, even in Anaheim, 13.00 a head just for food is no bargain...

We just went to a local hotel for a banquet and had a full-on buffet with dijon chicken, tri-tip, great sides and sumptuous desert for 17.00/head....even had linens and coffee, tea and water service at the tables...this was at my sister-in-laws belated company Xmas party (retail store, busy during holidays) The price also included a DJ for dancing..

I'm going mainly to meet people but am interested in a decent meal as well....my contact in Yorba Linda tells me DJ's food is "average" Mexican....maybe one of the local guys can go in for a Chili Colorado and report back with what he finds....a good red sauce usually means other good stuff is waiting...

Maybe, after the show's over, we can get an impromptu group and run over to Knowlwood's...Renee has promised to introduce me to their worlds best burger..*G*

In any event, looking forward to seeing you and hearing all about the convertible adventures.....

Glenn,
Maybe you could put together a chat announcement where a bunch of us who are going can get together in VMF chat and hash out the details....

I shared some of my experiences in a response to Teebone's post below....

Talk to you soon!

Thanks for registering my "maybe". If I can get there, it will be just myself, unless I can drag my 18 year old son to it. I don't know whether he will really enjoy being around a bunch of old farts (whoops, presumptive of me to think everyone is my own age). He is a mustang owner, however. I'll get back to you on that. What is the date of the dinner again? Thanks.

sure it's fun, but it's only a car.

Chilie Colorado sauce (roasted red pepper sauce, Yeah!). Need to check the Mole' sauce on chicken also (a non sweet spicy sauce based on chocolate, Yum!). Unless both of those sauces are on the menu and are really good, then it just is not a good Mexican food resturant.

Ole',

Russ

I eat at don jose's fairly regularly and I agree that is just "fair" for sit down mexican. What I find entertaining is that 95% of thier menu is $7 - 9 and banquet is $13. Irregardless I will be there!

If you need an escort over to Knollwood, I am there for you!

Pat,

The best mexican food in Anaheim is a place called La Capilla, that just happens to be across the street from Knollwood. Interestingly, going back to a conversation we had before, there is an In-N-Out right in between the two....the debate rages on!!!
