late model alternator

i have a alternator which is a 130 amp that came off a duretec V-6 the altrnator has one copper post thats for charging like a one wire alternator. BUT i have this plug in wire harness with four wires on it. need to know what these four wires are. there a real thin gauge , probably 18 guage. any body ever hear of such animal. P.S it cam out of a new duretec V-6 and it mounted right up to my march under drive pully's. i want to know if i can use it. and if i have to hook it up as a one wire , what does that all involve. or how can i bench test this to find out what these other leads of this harness are... i would very much appriciate any help............Allen
