Just got them today and swapped those LED's into the tail light housings. A good significant difference and I would recommend them without reservation. Plug and play. (y)
Nice work mate! Does a good job and makes a big difference. Post some pics if you have a chance..

When I was getting electrical feedback in my 65 that would flash my dash lights when the brake pedal was depressed, it turned out to be poor ground in the tail lamp bulb. The previous owner painted the inside of the buckets and did not mask off the sockets. I corrected it by using a battery post cleaner to wire brush the insides of the sockets and have not had an issue since.

LEDs should work great in the backup lights. That's a nice simple circuit so there shouldn't be anything to worry about putting them in there.

One of these days I'm gonna get myself some of @gtonavy 's backup lights here. If they' re half as bright as his turn signals you should be able to see around the block with those things.
