I have a '66 with an I6(timing advanced) that is making what sounds like lifter noise. The engine has seen no rebuild (110k original), however, the heads have just been rebuilt(3k miles ago). What's making the noise? Oil pressure is reading med-low(not low enough to worry).

Sounds like detonation. Is the timing too far advanced? It should be around 10-12 degrees with the vacuum advance disconnected and plugged. Is the vacuum advance hooked to full manifold vacuum? If so, it's advancing the timing too much at idle/part throttle. It should be hooked up to the ported vacuum on the carb.
