I usually go to the Fall Vintage Classic each year. Great collection of vintage racers, plus on Sunday, I can park my Mustang on the track. In early November I run an open track event with EMRA (www.EMRARacing.org) Great track.
I've been to the car shows there... always miss the race days. But the shows themselves are amazing! The Shelby meet last year blew my mind. Where else do you see 8 GT40s, multiple original Cobras (including the famed Bill Cosby 200mph), and lines of GT350s and GT500s ... not to mention all the amazing Mustangs.
And if you do show your car you get to do a couple laps on the track... although they do install a couple speed bumps.
I should scan some of the photos I have, you would not believe it.
I went as a spectator last summer for the SAAC event. There was quite a variety of Fords out there for the open track sessions, as well as the vintage races. I'd love to try it sometime. The full-race GT-350s were the most unreal spectacle, they were door-to-door and sliding all the way around, and 500 hp 289s make crazy sounds.
