Most likely a remanufactured unit installed at some point in time... 80's, 90's, etc. The original stamping, D2ZF-10300-AA, would have remained on the case while it was cleaned, a new bearing, bushing and diode pack was installed, the unit put in a box and sent to a parts store. If the original core was usable, your OE alternator probably got rebuilt and could be installed just about anywhere somebody needed a 1G Ford alternator.
