Good morning all.

Spent the past few days getting transport and LTL shipping ready for my new baby. Flying up to meet the seller next week and do paperwork on the purchase and supervise loading.

Looking for some guidance on restoration shops. Would love to fined one close to central Florida. But open to most anywhere.

Definitely want to do right by my new baby.

Rusty Gillis is in your area. He has posted several threads here showing his restorations. His user name here is rusty428cj as I recall.

As someone else who has a '69 428 CJ car - give plenty of thought to exactly what you want done - and your final vision of where you want to car to end up. It's all too easy to get caught up in the cycle of restoration "correct-ness" and you can easily spend 1000's on tracking down parts with specific date codes... Not saying this is wrong (if it's what you want), but if you're looking for something similiar - you should known that and give instructions accordingily if others are going to do the work on your car.

Before you consider a shop consider where your going. Define a goal, be it a specific class, organization, award or what you want to do with the car in its finished form. Use that to help you choose the shop you choose after narrowing the field and talking to some of their customers. Continue to keep your goal in mind as you make your chooses and are faced with challenges during the process. You will have your share. Babysit the car and the progress closely no matter where you take it. Good shops won't mind and will respect your interest.

Good luck with your choices

Agreed, after getting quotes you may decide to downscale the restoration and move towards a sunny day, weekend Driver.

Thanks all.

Completed the purchase yesterday in OH. She's on a transport bound for Tampa. Hopefully late Friday. 🤞
Congratulations!!! Looking forward to pictures of your new car!

Nice. Is your 69 a Q code CJ with an add on shaker, or an R code SCJ?
