I have to take the engine(?) crossmember off in order to get my lower control arms off. Will it hurt to leave it off for a week or so. As long as it's off I might as well clean it and paint it (While I'm at it ;)).

Hello. The car should be fine without the cross member for a few days.Be sure to have the car supported by the frame when you take the lower control arms off.Otherwise the car will fall on you. ::Good luck.

You do not have to remove the cross member to remove the lower arms

You do if the bolts were put in from the back like mine were.. Wether a PO did it or it was like that from the factory, I don't know.. all I know was that the Cross member was in my way too..

Bolts are in backwards; no way to remove without taking cross member off.

I think they are in correctly. The cross member keeps them from backing out. I dont think there is a cotter pin on the eccentric bolt, is there? Hmmmmm.
