I saw a truck today that had some custom wheels and some lug nuts that I have never seen before. They were smooth on the outside and looked like an inverted hex head on it, like maybe you'd use a allen wrench type tool to remove. Has anyone seen anything like this, and if you have what kind are they? I thought it looked like a good idea.

Ask a ricer. They all have them.

Seriously, check a wheel shop that sells high end wheels. Some wheel's lug recesses aren't big enough for a regular lug wrench.

I had a set like that once. They are anti-theft lug nuts and the recessed pattern you saw was more like a cloverleaf on the ones I had. The idea is that they can only be removed by the person with the lug nut key, making it extremely difficult to steal the wheels without taking the whole car. Each set had a slightly different pattern so that only one key could fit.
