We worked long hours this weekend on my coupe's engine compartment. The engine and tranny already were gone, so we were just planning to start sanding and cleaning the walls while working around the steering linkages and a few other things. *LOL* That sure changed fast! We had one of those sessions where someone says, let's remove just that part there, and someone else says, but if we get that thing there out of the way we can do this, etc. The only part remaining attached to the wall now is the brake proportioning valve and even that is hanging loose. We would have taken it right off but couldn't break the connection loose on one of the brake lines. I wouldn't be too surprised, however, if the next time I go to see the car that the valve is gone, too. We did do a great job on sanding and cleaning the walls and will be painting next weekend. I took a number of pictures and my friends said I should put them up on the webpage with the title, "What Happens When Judges P--- Off An Owner." *G*

By all means, please post those pictures. If nothing else, it allows us to keep track of your progress.

I will put something together and, for fun, the first picture should be of how I had the engine compartment detailed prior to the show. I think, however, I'll come up with a different title. *LOL* It will take a little while as I have to get my new computer set up and I don't know how long I can keep my internet service jury-rigged here. Eventually, I'll have everything working smoothly (I hope).

Hey, that's great Charles, I hope it all works out as I do want Pete to take a look at the car--even better if he judges it. My friends and I will have four cars there, my coupe, Chuck's GTCS, a 1966 Shelby, and a 1966 modified convertible. If it works out for Chuck (and I have no doubt), he will earn his grille medallion at the Grand National. Then, we both plan to campaign my coupe until I have the required 20 points.

The Grand National is in Kansas City over Labor Day weekend. You can get all the details at the MCA website, www.mustang.org.
