I'll definitely be there, lets hope it doesnt rain and get rescheduled like last year ...
TK, this is one of the coolest shows around in my book, you might want to consider it, i drive 90 minutes to get there from laurel, and its well worth it. Not only do you get to see some nice mustangs, but you get to see them doing the quarter mile runs all right together! .. plus they sell hot dogs and hamburgers cheaper than any other place i've been too (hey thats important to growing boys like me, lol) ..
Another nice thing about this show is the show field is grass, well drained and kept. No baking on hot asphalt.
And the drags are very cool:
If you are coming from Washington DC or Baltimore get on Rt. 270 or Rt. 70 and head towards Frederick, Md. Once at Frederick get on, or stay on, Rt. 70 west towards Hagerstown. Follow Rt. 70 until you reach Rt. 66 (Exit 35). Once at the bottom of the ramp turn onto Rt. 66 South, go about 1/2 miles until you reach Rt. 40 (you will see a Sheetz convienance store at the intersection) turn left (east) on Rt. 40 and go just another 1/2 mile, the Dragstrip entrance will be on your right.
If you are coming from Harrisburg or Martinsburg get on to Rt. 81 and follow it to Hagerstown, Md., when you get to Rt. 70 go east towards Frederick, Md. Follow Rt. 70 to EXIT 32A (Rt. 40). Get off that exit and follow Rt. 40 east for exactly 3.7 miles. The track entrance will be on your right side.
PS.... you will go by the same Sheetz Store that the directions above reference.
next to all ford nationals this is my favorite show, hope to see you guys there, unfortunately i dont have a vmf shirt so i'll have to wear a little name tag or something, so look for the dork with the vmf nametag ::
I went to Kunkels today to get a new T-stat housing...they ordered it said come back at 1..so I went home and took it apart...went back...they had the wrong one...so I won't get a part till late morning tommorrow. Plus I was so pissed off I didn't get the header gasket fixed....just kinda zooned out and pissed and moaned...at least Roxy pretended to listen.
You didn't miss too much, Nick. It rained pretty hard so there was no drag racing, only some very early time trials. The car show was slim too, not many cars showed up. However, after 3:00, the weather was just perfect. Enough for my friend to work on photos for his cougar calendar. http://www.tamos.net/~jimk/patience04.jpg
I called one of the organizers sat morning around 8 and he said they couldnt cancel it because the schedule was so tight at mason dixon, just no way to reschedule it (last year they had to postpone it for 2 months, but at least they got it in) .. really too bad, i was looking forward to it .. but i knew with even the hint of rain only a handful of cars would show up, so we stayed home .. what a shame
