Sorry should have posted that at the time. Was a little pressed for time but I was at work .... though I was suppose to be off today. Not sure I came up with exactly 6
Some of the issue stem out of the fact that when the article was written decals were acceptable in place of stampings
Picture #5 - a decal should not be used but instead an ink stamp should be
Picture #6 - a decal should not be used but instead an ink stamp should be. Reproduction decal carries a production date of 1970 (can't remember which month at this point)
Picture #7 - a decal should not be used but instead an ink stamp should be
Picture #8 - Not an incorrect decal though the color of the design differs from different factories and years. Remember to correctly fill out the decal if you’re going to apply it. And even these checks were notated differently from factory to factory from what we can tell
Picture #9 - a decal might likely be the best choice out there other than a really nice original or NOS one. Original did not use a decal but was printed on the aluminum tag
Picture #11 - in truth not a decal but debossed label
Picture #12 - a decal should not be used
I'll leave it to Charles to comment on the FRONT decal I know there has been much discussion of this decal. I can't say I've ever seen it after mid 65.
General comments for others-
We are discussing 65 Mustangs and other years and factories will differ.
Unfortunately many Mustang shops sell kits that include a bunch of decals. So owners often figure that if there in there I must need them.
Once asked on of the big suppliers of reproduction decals about a specific decal that was incorrect. When I asked why they produced them and sold them for Mustang I was simple told that they made them because people bought them.
