Um, boy I feel a little dumb here, but I thought Flowmaster was one type of muffler, while Cherry bombs were another... are you going to put two different mufflers on your stang?

I do like the sound that the flowmaster make. Depending on what you've done to the motor, you'd want to go with either 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inch pipes.

Aren't cherry bombs, a type glasspacks? You don't want to put on two different types of mufflers. My personnal preference is the flowmasters.

I remember the Cherry Bomb glass pack muffles back from the 70s. They were the aftermarket choice of us teenages cause of the loud sound, not because of any performance enhancements. The rep at that time was that they rusted out pretty quickly. Also, the sound was loud, not necessarily having a good tone. But, that was back then. As for flowmaster, the tone is what you get with them, plus the performance enhancement of reducing backpressure (don't want to eliminate it, just reduce it). The two-chamber flowmaster is louder than the 3 chamber. Go with at least 2.25 inch pipes. 2.5 inch or even 3 inch is better flowing, but 3 inch is difficult to bend to make the clearance over the rear axle. The 2.5 inch or larger limits your exhaust tip options, with most aftermarket tips coming in at 2.25 inches.

sure it's fun, but it's only a car.
