I took the 289 from my coupe down to the machine shop this morning to get it rebuilt. On the recommendation of the shop, the only thing we are going to change from stock on the engine is to put in hardened seats. I figure in a couple of years Murphy will come off the trailer and hit the road so this is a good thing to do for the engine. I swear that "Murphy" is the best name for this car. We had more trouble trying to get that darn 289 into my truck (has a camper shell on it) than we did with the 390. It almost fell over and out of the tire at one point. I was bracing it and thought I was going to have a small block in my lap. But, all went well and I'm supposed to have it back in time to get the car ready for its debut at the Albuquerque show the end of May. Now on to the tranny and undercarriage cleaning!

I should have mentioned I also dropped the Mach I seats off at my mechanic so he can finish Trouble's roll bar installation. Maybe I'll get one Mustang back home soon. I feel lost without a pony in the garage.

Make sure they paint the engine the wrong color Ford Blue...the judges will like that!

You have the worst "Trouble" with cars...I'm beginning to think you're jinxed, and having parked next to you at Pensacola, it rubbed off on me!

while it's at the shop have them throw in a stroker crank. some pop up pistons, a tunnel ram, some hot heads, have the entire thing balanced...I'll stop by with my saw-zall..we can get started cutting a hole in the hood to clear the tunnel ram..*LOL*..."We don't care 'bout no stinkin judges"

Hey, it could have been the 390 trying to land in my lap and you could have had the Alabama judging team. *LOL* The guys at the machine shop are so good (and they know Mustangs) that they asked me for a list of parts and right colors for the engine. It will be great as long as MCA doesn't change the color rules again.

Wow, I'm Jealous. I want to get a second stang after I get my job so I can completely take mine apart. and do a ground up resto. wish me luck career hunting:)
hmmmm.

I was thinking about moving back home to south carolina, and while there, building a car workshop/printshop on some land my family owns. If the job places me close to home I could do that. ;) if not. well. we'll see how it goes. "Betty" wants a Brother with a v-8.
