I took the 289 from my coupe down to the machine shop this morning to get it rebuilt. On the recommendation of the shop, the only thing we are going to change from stock on the engine is to put in hardened seats. I figure in a couple of years Murphy will come off the trailer and hit the road so this is a good thing to do for the engine. I swear that "Murphy" is the best name for this car. We had more trouble trying to get that darn 289 into my truck (has a camper shell on it) than we did with the 390. It almost fell over and out of the tire at one point. I was bracing it and thought I was going to have a small block in my lap. But, all went well and I'm supposed to have it back in time to get the car ready for its debut at the Albuquerque show the end of May. Now on to the tranny and undercarriage cleaning!
