I have the ability to pick up a Mustang II rack and pinion steering assembly for a great price, I was just wondering if anyone has ever done one of these. I am working on 68 coupe with a 289 and would like to know if anyone has any advice or things I should look out for.

IMO, if you want to add rack & pinion without changing the whole suspension your best bet would be one of the kits ready to fit your car, otherwise you're looking at a lot of fabrication to make it work.

I am ok with the fabrication if I knew which Rack was close. My uncle is a street rod guy and installing it and makes just about everything. He just can't find a rack that is what he needs to clear the headers.
