Hey y’all, total newb here - I came across a MX Cruise-O-Matic, medium case and based on the tag it came off a F100 truck (PFB-A with C5MP casting). Is it possible to use this on a 289 I’m putting in on a 1965 Mustang, if I get the proper bell housing?

I don't think so, for starters Ford never made a crossmember mount for that trans in an early Mustang. I wouldn't us one even if it does fit though. They are heavy (cast iron case) and parts are hard to come by. Then there is the shift linkage, out of a truck it will be made for a column shift.

Everything he said. I can testify that if it needs internal repair that the parts are indeed VERY hard to come by. Expensive, and for some reason the main hoarder of vintage MX parts is in Canada so shipping isn't cheap either. There are a number of ever so much better transmission choices.
