I got a new clutch for a 5.0 mustang and my old flywheel Both claim to be 10 1/2" but the diaphram bolt pattern is wider then my flywheel's anyone run into this before? I dont know what to do. If i buy another clutch will the same problem exist, same goes for the flywheel?

you need to get the clutch diaphragm/pressure plate for the early style flywheel. the late model 5.0 pressure plate does indeed have a different bolt pattern than the early style. the clutch discs are identical by the way.

You can also just have your old flywheel drilled with the new pattern. To use the newer style clutch you may need a bigger bell housing though.

I'm running the "5.0" style, dowel located diaphram clutch and pressure plate (Centerforce DF); and have the original 1965 "small" bellhousing, clutch fork, throwout bearing, and Z-bar clutch linkage.
