My new Mustang 68 in Russia

Hello to all cowboys! My name is Stephan, I'm from Russia. Recently, at the Copart auction, I bought a Mustang 68, a coupe, with a 200 engine and brought it to Russia. A car from New York. There are only a few dozen mustangs of the 1st generation in Russia. There is a power steering, an automatic transmission. That's all). There are a couple of holes on the body. The engine starts and the car drives. I've already driven about 600 miles. The plans are to eliminate the problems of the mechanical part in a year and in a couple of years to do the bodywork.

Hi, all! Chris! You have Brittany blue car? I thought it was a very rare color. We paint in red, black and sometimes blue. But I want to keep the original one.👍

Welcome to VMF !!
I spent a month in Russia - St. Petersburg, Moscow, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk- (and Tallin, Estonia), in 1993. What a wonderful and beautiful country with a strong, welcoming people! I hope to go back to visit again someday. Perhaps I will see vintage Mustangs and other classics on the streets!

Now Russia has changed a lot. We have quite a lot of vintage cars now. But they are prevented from bringing them by large customs duties. For example, for a Mustang 200 cid, the customs duty is about $ 23,000.😬😬😬😬🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Thanks Chris about color👍
Welcome from Canada !

Howdy and welcome!

Lots of fun to be had with a 200 six, and I bet it’s super fun to drive an old Mustang in a country where most people haven’t seen one in person before.

Welcome!

Regarding custom duties, now that you have it, are you allowed to put in a V8 without additional taxes?
