I'm currently disassembling my '67 fastback and am wondering if I should feel bad about throwing out any parts I have no use for. I just finished pulling the drivetrain and am not planning to use the non original C6 and the driveshaft. I figured the C6 had some value, but I was about to throw the driveshaft out. Would this be a Mustang sin? I'd hate to think I was carelessly throwing away things that someone out there might be looking for. I still have all the suspension under the car to dissasemble and will probably be throwing these parts out as well. This car is too far from original to restore so I'm looking to make it into a tasteful restomod. It will probably end up looking pretty original, but will have a new drivetrain and suspension components. Anyway, should I feel bad about pitching out any parts?

Just curious,

Brian

You can always put them on the free/trade board on the VMF. I am sure that there are others out there that could use them. Just ask that they pay the shipping. I got a couple of engines that way and when the time comes to clean my garage after the resto I will be posting lots of free stuff. Just my .02 $

I have a whole bunch of parts from my car that I have rechromed, replaced or just got tired of having! I'm planning to offer them on the free/trades forum for anyone who wants to pay the S&H.

I feel it's a "Mustang sin" to throw out parts that I can't use because someone else might be able to. Like when I got my chrome export braces - I gave the original ones away to someone who needed them. It's a great thing to do...

I would never throw anything away that is still useful to someone. If you don't want to keep it find someone who wants or can use it. Just think if every Mustang part was thrown away and after 30 years the only left would be repo stuff./forums/images/icons/frown.gif

If you don't want it..

1. post on the free/trade forum and give it a couple of weeks. If that doesn't do it,

2. contact another vmf member who deals in a lot of used parts, like billbo or jmountz.

Parts like that driveshaft (and 9" rears, for example) are unusual....they fit heavy duty drivetrains installed, like trucks have, only spanning the much shorter dimensions of mustangs!!
