Please use this thread to post any shops you have had excellent dealings with in the regional area in the past and you would recommend to anyone needing work done. Please remember this is not a "don't go here" thread....any thing like will be removed.

Great NJ Resto Shop

I would like to recommend Summit Rod and Custom in Morristown NJ, took me a while to decide where to send my 1966 K Code Coupe and I am very happy that I took my time to find this shop. This is a full service restoration shop, everything is done in house and the folks over there, John and Russ are knowledgable and professional. They looked over the car, we discussed what the plan was, I received a written estimate, we agree a drop off date and the plan did not deviate and the estimate was almost spot on. If you are considering a restoration shop and you dont want to be jerked around call these guys.

I see L&M Engines was already mentioned, and yes, Mike R. is a GREAT guy. They did the R&R and dyno for my "Rusty," and also addressed more than a few under-hood issues.

Mike and his crew built my D0 block 302/347 stroker. Super nice guy. You've probably seen more than a few of his engines in NMRA Hot Street class, and others. They just moved into a new, larger facility in Easton, PA.

Joey recently helped me out with some issues I was having with my C4 auto and also did a rear gear swap for me (3.50 to 3.89). Quality work, and very reasonable rates. I found the shop by "accident" because it's near my brother's house - my car winters in his garage.

Repair to '68 Convertible top

Hi, I just took possession of my 68 Mustang Convertible, the back window and piping ripped off during transport. Can anyone recommend a shop to have it repaired? Thanks Trysche

Anyone in southern Maryland? I highly reccommend Bill at Advance Automotive in Waldorf for machining! He was referred to my by my brother at first who had him machine his 460 block. Machined my block for my 390, port and polished heads for one of my friends, and now is trusted with my uncles race car anytime they need machining. VERY reasonable price and fairly quick turn around. If you tell him you need it quick, he'll make it happen. Small shop, so sometimes patience is key, but longest he ever took on a block for one of my friends was two weeks.

Very happy with his work!

trysche - Where in Maryland are you? One of my friends is a Mustang fanatic and also a master of all things mustang related lol. Mechanic and body work is just some of what he does. Older guy, but knows ALOT. If you're in SoMD, try A. Stephens Automotive. He might be able to fix it :)
