Hey all,
Looking for an Autolite 4100 carb 600 cfm. with the tag for a 69 mustang with automatic trans. and air. Any idea who has one?
THANKS!

I don’t believe you’re going to find such a animal. The last year for a 4100 on a Mustang was 66. After that, 4300.

Unless you’re concerned with correctness for judging, get the Summit 600. Basically a 4100

Try Kurt Praxl with KPCarbs - I had him build a 4100 1.12 manual choke carb for me a couple years ago while I was doing my upgrade work.

I agree, although the 67 289HP had the 4100.

While the 4100 was excellent, it'd be pure luck to get one to use on a 69 and have it work right. The Summit is a fine item, originally designed for Holley as the 4010, and utilizes all the best features of the 4100, but uses 4160 tuning parts.

The summit carb appears to much like a resto-mod carb and not one that appears period correct. That is what I am shooting for.

I picked up a restored 4100 from GottaFish on eBay, he has a shop there. Was perfect right out of the box, it looks great and all I had to do was set the fast idle and fine tune the needle jets once I put it on the car. That was some years ago now, and haven't had a complaint with it. I'd give a thumbs up recommendation for him.
And my 67 289 is MUCH happier with the 4100 versus the old 4300.

4100

I have one of the oldest 4100's from Pony Carbs that I got in 1990. It's got over 400,000 miles on it, got better than 20 mpg's on my trip from LA to Charlotte to Savannah last month and really is trouble-free. I have the original 4100 on my 65 K GT FB and put one on my 77 Comet w/ 302. I took the 4300 of my 69 GT convert- 351W- and the 4100 is a lot better running. All these "looks like", built like", "works like" a 4100 still isn't the real thing. I used a 1.12 for the 69 and jetted it for this engine. Can't wait to see what it will do with the AOD.
