A PO hacked up my dash. Now I'm exploring options.
Does anyone have pics of the Shelby radio delete (is this a plastic cap?).
I'd also like to hear from someone who's used and/or see a pic of the plastic repair panel...are they junk?

I'm trying to avoid welding in the new panel for the time being. ::

The plastic piece is crap, not even worth buying in my opinion.

The radio delete will cover the area horizontally as original, but if the hole was cut down, it probably won't cover.

You really should repair it correctly with the metal plate by welding it in. You might consider paying a bodyshop to do it.

How about an AM-8 track plate?
These radios are pretty big, so the face plate is too.
The dash is also hacked up pretty good for the AM-8 install.
You could either run the AM-8 or hack up that plate and run a DIN?
I saw a pic of one in the last few weeks in this forum.

Here is a photo of one of the radio delete panels I carry.

If you take it to the body shop to have it fixed, repairs should cost at the most, $250.00 to weld in a new plate, probably less depending on where you go. Just make sure they know what they are doing as this is an area that is looked at quite often.

I agre with Glenn..If the repair is going to be made correctly at a later date, why not just fill the hole like the PO did, with an after-market radio, and face-plate that will cover the hack job, and enjoy the tunes.Thats what I did last summer when i was driving mine, and it didnt look too out of place to the general public.
