on our 65 Fastback the drivers fender has 10 7 D2 and the passenger fender has 10 13 2 stamped into it. can someone please tell me how to decipher what dates these stampings translate to ?

mikesgt is correct, D does mean Dearborn stamping plant and the 2 means second shift. You may also see
a W on some sheet metal where the D is, that equates
to the Woodhaven MI. stamping plant

thanks guys...one more question- they didn't stamp anything on the fenders/hoods, etc to indicate a year ?

Fenders and hoods also have date stamps, just like every individual sheet metal component on the car (bolted on or welded).

Wow charles, I did not know that...I imagine many wear off over the years?? are these ink stamps of imprintings on the metal???Ink I would geuss????

t he codes are stamped into the metal, they do not were off, they may get filled w/paint over the years though
