I'll try and not miss anything (sure others will pipe up)
Not sure what trans you have ,,, I best remember C4's for some reason
1. Jack the car up and use jack stands (palce the trans selector in Park
2. Disconnect the switch from the wireloom located at the top of the firewall (you'll find a junction block that attaches to wires that then travel into the passenger compartment
3. Under the car locate the shifting rod then locate where it attaches to the trans
4. The arm will attach to a shaft that is sticking out of the trans on the drivers side at the end you should have a nut.
5. The arrangement should be (from out side to trans) nut, washer, arm neutral safety switch then kick down arm
6. You should be able to remove the nut and washer then by wiggling the arn a bit it should come off
7. The neutral safety switch will be held in place with two small bolts (one at the front and one at the rear of the switch) that have small star washers on them. After that the switch should slide off of the shaft. Notice the slot in the shaft and the matching key in the switch
8. Instert the new switch and barely tighten the bolts since you will likely need to adjust the switch a little
9. Check to see if the carwill start in both PARK and NEUTRAL if not simple adjust the switch fore or aft to make that adjustment
Hope this helps
