I had a nick in my paint so i touched it up i went to sand it with 2000 grit and i burnt through it how do you guys reapir this and make them look passable

If you truly cut through the CC to the base the only perfect fix is wet sand the remaining clear and lay on more.

Uncovered BC will look ok for a while after you buff it out. In a short time it will look like more buffing is needed. You can buff it over and over til you cut the BC too thin. Then you start all over with new bc and cc.

dude it's down to the black primer i burnt threw on the sharp corner right below the quarter window about a inch long ans a 1/8th inch wide

I've just started to spray bc/cc but from a lot of reading on it, you should wet sand, spray some base to blend/cover, then clear the entire panel. A lot of info can be found at the following site.

Just painted my first car 66 Coupe. Yeah it is a p.i.t.a. when you cut through. You will have to wet sand and repaint the area, then clear the entire panel. Good Luck
