Engine is a 289 just rebuilt with a brand new holly carb right out of the box. Problem is when trying to start the engine it back fires (kind of cool watching the flames come out of the headers) need help please Do i need a spacer plate for it?
Did this just start to happen after installing the new carb or has this been a problem before? Did you install just the carb, or was there anything additional engine mods done?
I feel like a jacka$$ I had the distributor on the wrong way. It was 180 out. Fliped it around and it fired right up, sounds nice and loud without the exhaust system on. Thanks for though advice. ::
