[Cop Magnet]

I have a 302-based block with the FR power rack and pinion. The D-rod goes right through the header. The headers FR sells for this application are just rebadged Hedman headers, but they cover 302-351's and lo and behold they are too tall. Who would have thought? I thought the 302-specific Hedman's would work, but they are back ordered till November and I don't want to wait that long just to find out they don't fit. So...has anyone done the leg work for me on this by any chance, and knows which long-tube headers will fit?

I had a similar space conflict on my ‘69 Cougar with a Unisteer R&P and Doug’s long tube headers on a Cleveland. Changed to Sanderson shorty type and still needed to mod the collector. Good luck with your resolution.

Wow, that sucks. Sorry to hear. I have been hoping to avoid shorty's as well as custom headers. Very disappointed in Flaming River. Your situation is different in that at least no one pitched a package as designed to work together.

Yeah, not much fun but at least it was expensive too!

I bought the long tube headers after finding out both stock manifolds were cracked and before I had even considered swapping to R&P. You might want to reach out to FPA for their input.
