Need help with my 1g/3g alternator switch

I’m having some issues with the wiring on my old 1g alternator. Included some pictures for reference. Do I need a new harness or can I make what I have work?

I’m just not sure which of these wires to hook up where.
I would get one of these.

3g has a signal wire and a charge wire. I used the wiring/alternator that came on a late 90’s v6 mustang out of a yard. $40 all in. Worked great. Ripped all the stock alt wiring out.
Ah, you do know the 3g alternator has an internal regulator making your existing regulator unnecessary. Also, the existing wiring is too small. A larger battery supply cable is necessary as well. I did the same as Anangryford.

The cheapest way to get NEW plugs are either from a seller on ebay or these two links.

I have one of these with the 3g kit I bought but my vehicle harness wiring doesn’t seem to lining up with the instructions. It came with the harness above and a regulator.
Do you have an ammeter or an alternator warning lamp?

I have an ammeter
The note one and two are confusing me. My harness does not look like the one in the notes . I have a blue wire a white wire and a black wire that is also connected to the ground.

Okay.... I missed the "3G" stuff.... Does this "kit" have a "dummy" regulator?

Okay.... and your 3G alternator has a 3-pin plug that goes in the side with a pigtail with a ring terminal that goes to the BAT output post on the alternator?

Should be something like this.... As described elsewhere, I would NOT replace the original alternator output wire (yellow or black/yellow) but add a second 6ga wire with both terminating at a 100A fuse at the solenoid common (like this one... https://www.amazon.com/WindyNation-...?keywords=100+Amp+Fuse&qid=1679407416&sr=8-19). I'd mount it adjacent to the solenoid and supply it from the solenoid common with a short 4ga wire.

Could you provide a picture of the above connections?
Yes you need an ASI plug and a fuse and heavy gauge charging cable…I used the motortrend article as a guide and used an AAW kit for the wiring, and an ASI plug off EBay ($5)
Simple diagram, red and yellow can share post on back of Alt, gray/white plugs on back of Alt, red goes via fuse to starter solenoid and then BAT, ggreen, might have red stripe goes to ignition. Optional ground cable….only 2 wires need to leave Alt and run to inner fender…google ASI a plug for the connector…

Thanks everyone for the help. Once looking at all the diagrams and pictures you provided I realized I had created a personal complicated monster. It was quite easy once I wrapped my head around it. Back on the road and cruising.
