im taking out my old orig. 351w from my 69 mach and getting it redone

i want to clean the engine bay i figured to clean up all grease and sand out rust spots and then prime and paint or could i just paint over
and what kind of paint should i use
i was going to use spray paint or rattle cans what some people call it
i dont have a spray gun
i wanted it black but not shiny just a little
any ideas or any pics

Satin black was the factory finish. Eastwood and Krylon have rettle can black that close to factory finish. Be careful the black finish is compatable with the primer so you don't get lifting.

You can see from my sig 68 it's a driver with good enuf touch up and repair/refinishing. I won't criticize you for using rattle cans!

The best "correct" rattle can is Krylon 1613 Semi Flat Black. You have to buy it on the internet as it is labeled as Industrial Paint. Grainger no longer carries it as some may have reported eariler. Just search Krylon 1613. I just bought some...
