car is a 1967. I assumed the trans was original but apparently not which ok because I believe I got a later model stronger trans.
I pulled the spline and it's 26 on one end and 24 on the other. I verified that the shaft will only go in one way. From what ive read this makes it a '71-'82 C4
but the casting numbers seem to indicate the trans is a '66? Buying a rebuilt and shift kit so want to make sure.
Not possible to put a '71-82 shaft and torque converter on a '66 ish trans is it?
any help appreciated.
ID Tag is missing of course.
Flex plate is a 157 tooth.

Just verified I have a push in modulator rather than a screw in. Apparently this makes it a '73-'82 according go BadShoe youtube video. Also no vent tube but a vent cap so I believe I answered my own question by digging further.
Hopefully someone can find this in a search later to help them.

Ford reused casting numbers if nothing was changed about the part. For example a brand new brake pedal pad for my 1995 F150 will have a 1972 part number on the back. Such can numbering can confuse things a bit but you definitely have it worked out.
