Hi All,
As a word of caution - I just had my new Carlite (even with the old style logo!) windshield installed. From the factory they come with a thunderbird style mirror post glued on the glass!!Don't you think they could have gotten the post right?
I know you can use heat to get them off but installer said sometimes the window is ruined too. Gotta check with Carlite.

If the windshield is for a '69, it should have the slip-over base glued to it. That's the correct style of mirror for '69. If it's an actual post, that would not be correct.

Where did you get the glass?

The car originally had a ball type post for the mirror, this one has the blade type. Came from a glass ditributor in Cinci I believe.

I got some information from another source that indicates that the post-type is correct and that the slip-on type became the service replacement for '69. Apparently, Ford offered an adapter to for those who wanted to keep their original mirror.

This may all be moot, but I just wanted to correct my original post.
