Replacing coil springs and shocks in 66 vert. Got the old ones out and they are 3 inches shorter than the new ones? The box says "dont be alarmed if the new coil springs are shorter than the old ones"..... Now I'm confused!. Attached is a photo of the old and new. They are Moog springs and are suppposed to be the correct pair. Any advice would be much appreciated!!! I got one in and it is so tight that it is bowing.

Sure looks like the wrong spring to me, counting the coils, the new ones have at least 1 coil more.

i think the 6 cylinder springs are slightly longer and thinner so that might be it

I called Moog today and started asking questions about the springs. I got them from Advance Auto's website and is part #658A. I found out that these are springs for a 56-57 Chevy Bel Aire............... nice job AA. Be careful when making online purchases.
