Any electronic experts out there? We have the same problem with two cars. We have a newer 5-litre engine with electronic ignition in a 66 coupe with original rally pack. We also have a 69 Mach 1 converted to electronic ignition with an original built it tach. Same problem - the tachs won't work!
the needle rises but drops off after 1500 rpm. Help!

What kind of ignition do u have? If its an MSD, you will need to buy the tach adapter that they sell. I had the same problem with my 67, i had a MSD 6al ignition box, Blaster 2 coil, and distributer. It was really simple to install. Simply attach the ground wire, the white wire to the ignition box, and the red wire to the back of the tach. Its been working fine ever since

Should have mentioned... both cars are stock Ford ignition.
Still, I wonder if the MSD add on would solve the problem?
