New stereo in my 67 looks cool

I purchased a Sony Xplod head unit from good ol Ebay, and installed it last night. It looks pretty slick. The panel where the old two post radio unit bolts up, some PO hacked it up to fit a two post radio that wasn't supposed to fit in there, so I didn't feel so bad cutting it to make my new radio fit. But it looks very nice and I'd recommend this modification to anyone with a restomod.

All you need is a dremel, a cutting wheel, and don't forget the safety glasses! I will try and have pics up as soon as possible to show off my handy work. It really turned out a lot better than I thought it would. Now I need some good speakers........

i have a sony explod in head unit in my 65. I have a box that it fits in and sits in the glove box. I have a remote too so i don't have to reach across the car to change it. I recomend this, that way you don't hack up your dash.

I Never really liked Sony car audio equipment but the XPLOD stuff really caught my eye so keep us posted on how the stereo plays and lasts. I bought a Kenwood CD player and mounted it under the dash in a black plastic box (looks really cool) but i plan on adding a custom console to take the place of the box so well see how that looks when its in!
67's are a bit different than 65/66's. They have that removable aluminum radio bezel thingy. Mine was already hacked up and the chrome is VERY pitted and gnarly looking, so it doesn't make me feel bad doing a little surgical reconstruction on my radio bezel. Believe me, it looks ten times better than that mis-matched shaft style radio held on with oversized washers, crazy people in this world!
