Hi everyone. I’m new to the forum world. I have a 68 mustang with the in-line six and it will not for the life of me run smoothly. Very poor running condition. Has a rebuilt auto lite 1100. The choke vacuum line is rusted away. I have set the carb to “factory setting” via advice online. I recently replaced the exhaust gasket. The timing is set to 11-12 advance. The car just chugs fumes that smell very rich “burns the eyes” and once I put the car into drive or reverse it Boggs down badly. Seems like it wants to chug and lurch forward when I’m at a stop with my foot on the brake pedal. But once I’m driving down the road it seems to run fine. Hopefully someone has some advice
