I bought a 351w a few days ago. I noticed that it has bolt holes and an indention (where the fuel pump should go) but there is just a smooth cavety inside. The motor came out of a 1970 something bronco.
Thanks for any insight

Your front cover (where the fuel pump bolts to) is off a later model fuel injected motor. They used electric fuel pumps. Hence no need for a mechanical pump.

I've had one of those. I cut the hole out for my mechanical pump with a die grinder. What got me is they left the hole blocked up but drilled and tapped for the fuel pump bolts which they never intended to be bolted there. Worked out nicely for me but seemed odd.
Later model timing covers don't even have the castings there so you can't do anything with them.
