I have an Interstate Battery (24F) from Costco with no lip and a 1965 battery tray.

Has anyone fashioned a workaround that is not a bungee?

Always appreciate the responses and thank you.

I simply split a piece of 5/16 rubber fuel line and put it over the battery side edge of the hold down. Pushed the hold down as tight to the battery as possible and tightened it down. If the car is ever jarred hard enough to move the battery, the battery will be the least of my worries.

What New2me did, except I put split fuel line on the bracket AND the fixed lip on the other side of the battery tray.

I was in Home Depot the other day and I noticed they had batteries with the lip on them. Should have picked one up but nothing is wrong with my battery. Incidentally, my stock 66 clamp seems to hold the battery in tight. Tried to take the battery out today without loosening the hold down and I couldn't.
