My SWMBO called NPD last week to order a hump hugger console for fathers day (I wonder how she knew that is what I wanted). When she went to pay for it the guy taking the order told her he needed to put my cc # on the order also for tracking purposes. She asked why, and he told her that alot of their customers have a separate credit card with a billing address to their office so the wives don't find out what they are spending on their mustangs! I of course assured her I would never do anything like that, and then went to see when my next statement comes. I am only sorry I never thought to have it come to my work address. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Honesty is the best policy. Right, dear?

I ALWAYS have my parts sent to the office - wouldn't want the UPS man to just leave them on the porch where anyone could take them!! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Billing statement - What's that??? I just buy parts - somebody else's problem to PAY for them......../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Actually I think it's to help prevent cc fraud. But I bet the NPD guys told your wife it was to stop sneaky ordering of parts /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I just order the stuff and my wife ask where the parts came from and I just say "remember that stuff I ordered last year? Well this is part of that back order honey. Really would I order more parts without asking you?" /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

I have another systems that works. I just tell my wife that I'm getting a part(s) for my 73 and that's that. If she doesn't approve oh well too bad.

It sure is nice not having to beg A WIFE or Significant other if I can spend my money on my parts for the car......Kind of brought back old memories of having to ask to spend what I earned.....AAAAAAAAHHHHH the Life of being Single. ;^ )

Hmmm isn't the paypal visa card for that purpose. So when I sell a part and tell her I got $5 bucks for it but it is actually $25 is that morally wrong? I did make the mistake of letting her sneak a peek at the paypay card. Luckily she easily understood that was where the money for the car parts went. Thank god they don't send statements thru the mail, all electronic.

This also reminds me of the many National Guardsmen that tell their wives that they are just volunteering and do not get paid for the two days a month or the two weeks a year!! That's about the best one I have heard. You would be surpised at how easy that goes over! Some even tell the wife they have to pay for their uniforms when they don't.

Soooo SSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
