I friend of mine just bought new tires from Costco for his mini-van and they filled the tires with Nitrogen ::

They also changed the valve stem caps to special green ones to indicate the nitrogen in the tires. Has enybody heard of this before??

Yeah, it's supposed to increase tire life and doesn't leak out like compressed air. Nascar uses it since nitrogen doesn't contain as much moisture they can have more accurate pressure as the tires heat up.

Surprised they're doing it at Costco. Did he pay extra?

And here I thought nitrogen was only for fine bubbles in beer.

Didn't pay extra, didn't even ask for it! I really want to see the mini-van go 140 mph now that he has his nitrogen tires ::

Hey, if it wasn't for the late cautions he'd have won that race...didn't have time to get back up to speed. ::

Oh, God. And I was calling you guys "NASCAR geeks". :p
