I wouldn't trust wiring ANYTHING in my car to someone at best buy. I went to an alarm/radio shop at Archer/Harlem.

They hook up radios, hams, phones, they are a little more adept at wiring. Some of these systems are pretty complicated. They run frequent specials too.

I got the remote start installed for my wife last year and the wife loved it. Mine was installed at a place called Mr. 50's in Hammond, IN. However I believe he has a shop in Lansing, IL as well. I called around asking about prices and not only did this guy know what he was talking about but he was cheaper than best buy, circuit city, highland auto, etc.

My Daughter bought one for her Cougar. It has a Ford security system in the key.

Since the computer needs the key close by to start they were going to break the end of the key off and tape it inside the column to fool the car.

She changed her mind.

Actually, I looked into getting one put in my Sport Trac
recently...

They told me Ford would make me another key, and it would get put
into a special box under the dash somewhere. The security system
is called PATS. I also hear that some after market companies make
a PATS anti theft bypass box for ford vehicles - which do not
require the extra key...

If anyone is interested, you can look it up on yahoo...
